I grew up in Darlington in the Northeast but left for London when I was 18 to peruse a career in retail, spending the next 25 years (I don’t feel that old!). I worked for brands such as BhS, Marks & Spencer, Hobbycraft and White Stuff.
I had a brief maternity break when my eldest son was a baby setting up a business with my husband in the waste industry (not very glamorous) the business is still flourishing 15 years later and although I am still a partner, thankfully he runs this without much further help from me.
I joined British Land in 2017, finding the perfect niche in centre management, a job that was ideal for me, combining my lengthy retail experience with operations in the property sector. In 2020 I returned to the northeast, taking up the appointment as Centre Director at Teesside Park, one of the largest and best-loved shopping destinations in the area, something I feel very proud and privileged to do.
I have two sporty boys who play cricket and rugby at home, so I spend a lot of time in muddy fields in the winter, prosecco on the cricket pavilion in the summer so not so bad. We have a miniature dachshund called Wilf named after Wilfred Zaha the Crystal Palace forward, living in a house with three men, CPFC features heavily in my life so I escape regularly to our garage mini gym and try to run a couple of times a week.
I'm thrilled to be overseeing the next chapter in the development of Teesside Park, British Land's third-largest retail centre, and am committed to creating places people prefer in the form of spacious, open shopping and leisure destinations, that people love to visit. All the team look forward to welcoming you.
