The Role
The Retail Manager drives business performance through retail standards, commercial analysis, the continued improvement of retail liaison and engagement and delivery of wider business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Working with occupiers and the wider Centre team to deliver retail standards including consistent trading hours, customer service, visual merchandising and operations.
Maintain and develop own and team knowledge of Centre and occupier sales and footfall to support the Centre Director and wider Teesside Park teams.
Acquire additional insights from occupiers, other comparable Centre s and the industry to benchmark the Centre performance and explain trends.
Use sales and footfall systems to acquire, manage, report and produce bespoke analysis on Centre and retailer performance KPI s to all stakeholders.
Deliver sales compliance KPI s to maintain quality and quantity of data provided.
Ensure all reports are delivered on time and accurately work with internal systems and suppliers to maintain a high level of service to all users.
Provide quality and timely verbal and written communication to all occupiers.
Support the Regional Marketing Manager in driving uptake of activities and promotions.
Resolve day to day issues/concerns to a suitable conclusion for all parties involved.
Identify opportunities for commercialisation working with the commercialisation manager and partners to drive sales and income within the Centre.
Support occupiers through Centre development work ensuring that programmes are well communicated and the impact to sales and footfall is mitigated.
Promote retailer services to drive involvement including Sales Data Collection and the BL:Comm app.
Conduct occupier welcome meetings and training along with follow up to ensure all occupiers are fully engaged with Centre initiatives, services and procedures.
Ensure that the occupier handbook is updated and promote use with occupiers.
Plan, communicate and execute regular occupier meetings.
Conduct regular visits to occupiers to develop and maintain strong relationships, gain insight and knowledge around performance.
Formulate an action plan based on the annual customer satisfaction survey result feedback and deliver improvements.
Work with the service partner team to maintain mystery shop results at 95%+
Promote the usage of the BL:Comm app and ensure that content is always up to date and relevant so that communications are always accurate and appropriate.
Manage the app content from occupiers and the wider Teesside Park team to continually improve usage/engagement and effectiveness.
Required Skills
The ideal person will have a good understanding of retail and hospitality along with excellent communication skills both verbal and written. PC literacy will be an essential requirement due to the high proportion of time using databases and reporting systems. The ability to work under pressure, multitask, and manage time and team effectively whilst maintaining a customer focus, providing a professional and personable contact point for occupiers, other stakeholders, and the wider Centre teams.
